SQAWK 2026 Road trip: Stop 2 Revelstoke

At the end of our last day at Red and refueled by highway pizza we journey north towards Revelstoke. 4 hours and a ferry ride later and we arrived.

After crashing for the night, we awoke bright eyed and frothing for the mountain.  Our accommodations were comfortable and curiously unique. The hotel was adorned incongruously with large heavy Chinese wooden furniture, and our complimentary breakfast provided hard boiled eggs and orange slices. Pleasant but strange

After a short bus ride and walk, we boarded the gondola. We were greeted with superb visibility and proceeded to have incredible leg burning runs through the various glades across Revelstoke. The mountain only has 1 gondola and a few chairlifts but feels much larger and expansive than that would imply. The glades are gnarly and held some great snow.

Taking a breather in one of the openings in the steep glades off Ripper chair.

The views off the mountain are world class and every few hours you can hear a helicopter overhead carrying heliskiers to those untouched peaks. The thump of the copter blades definitely added a crackle of excitement to the mountain.

The nearby peaks were visible from almost every run on the mountain

Revelstoke was rad off the mountain as well with a lively downtown that felt inviting while still feeling like a small mountain town. A short walk from our hotel was an old schoolhouse converted into a restaurant and a rowdy Tuesday night trivia (where our first-place dreams were squashed by a failed bet on computer Japanese horse racing)

Our brief time at Revelstoke was top notch and the team got some quality riding footage before bundling back into the truck for the brief drive through Rodgers pass to Golden B.C. Next stop Kicking Horse

Even without freshies for several days the snow quality was good and quite rippable

Clear skies and stellar visibility
