Why Stagecoach?

SQAWK rider uncovering snow from SQAWK truck

The Stagecoach lift has always been a staple of SQAWK trips to Heavenly resort in South Lake Tahoe. Heavenly is large, notoriously busy and chaotic. The gondola and California base especially so. Stagecoach serves no green runs deterring the beginners and keeping the crowds low.

It was already our go to lift but our love for the chair really flourished during the 2022/23 ski season.  It was crazy deep that winter in Tahoe and we got regularly blanketed with snow, the season total topping out at over 700 inches.

On an early December weekend ski trip we awoke to almost 2’ of fresh snow. Our truck was snowed in, so we appropriated a local snowblower and some shovels and got to work clearing a path for us and our neighbors.  After a solid 2 hours of digging, shoveling, scraping and blowing we suited up for Stagecoach.

It hummed upwards before dropping us off into delicious untouched chest-deep powder. We hooted with delight as we carved huge deep turns through the trees. It was incredibly rad and made the subsequent highway closure, detour and 11 hour drive home much more palatable.

This trip inspired us to celebrate Stagecoach by drawing its topography on our Stagecoach: Oversized crewneck – SQAWK.

Whether you’re a Tahoe regular or visiting for the first time snag the Stagecoach crewneck in your favorite color (I like it in red) and celebrate some of South Lake Tahoe’s sickest resort tree skiing.
